Dorothy Doll
Main character turned into a doll in her journey to the Land of Oz
The most humanoid toy
Modeled after Raggedy Ann doll
No fingers; must hold items by "bend" of hand (end of nub)
Scare-in-a-Box
The Scarecrow is portrayed as a Jack-in-the-Box, a toy meant to scare, yet cannot
Must bounce to travel around
Box tune plays "If I Only Had a [Brain/Heart/Nerve]" melody
The Tin Kettle
The Tin Man is portrayed as a tea kettle, which were sometimes made of iron
The Tin Man rusted because of iron parts, not from the tin
Often rusts in odd positions not suitable for a tea kettle
The Dandelion
The Cowardly Lion is portrayed as a plush toy, soft and unassuming
Dandelions are seen as nuisances in gardens, but are actually strong and resilient
